The line graph illustrates the differences in
crime’s three different areas in Manchester city centre between 2003 and 2012.
Overall, it is clear that the A decrease
trend can be seen in the number of burglary, while car theft numbers increased
over the period from 2003 to 2012.
Looking at the graph more closely, it is
evident that the number of burglary was just under 3,500 at the beginning of
the period, increasing to about 3,700 which was the highest number of the given
period. It experienced a dramatic decrease to about 1,000 in 2008, which was almost
quarter, compared to 2004. The figure for burglary rose to 1,500 in 2009 and it
saw a slight change from 2009 to 2012.
Regarding car theft numbers was with about 2,300 in
2003, falling to 2,000 in 2006. It saw a insignificant difference between 2006
and 2008. The figure for car theft rose to just over 2,500 in 2010, increasing
to about 2,700 at the end of the period which was the highest number of the
same year. The number of robbery went up and down several times during the period.
The lowest number can be seen in robbery at about 500 in 2003, which almost
doubled in 2005. Robbery figures was at 500
again in 2008 and 700 in 2010 respectively. It saw a slight decrease to just
over 500 in 2012.
