The line graph exhibits how much carbon dioxide each person produced in the United kingdom, Sweden, Italy and Portugal between 1967 and 2007. As can be seen, it is clear that the United kingdom showed slow and constant decline in Co2 emissions throughout the period. In Sweden, Co2 emission soared from 9 metric tonnes in 1967 to over 10 metric tonnes in 1977. Since then it shows dramatic decrease to 7 metric tonnes by 1987 and then it stadily fell over the period of twenty years. During the same period, there were overall increase in Italy and Portugal. In Sweden, It shows significant increase from 4 metric tonnes to over 6 between 1967 and 1977 and it constantly grew for the next 20 years since then remaining unchanged. In Portugal, Co2 emission per person steadily climbed from one metric tonnes in 1967 to approximately 5 in 1997 and then the figure showed little change. Overall, there were relatively stable increase in Italy and Portugal whereas there were decline in both United kingdom and Sweden except for growth reaching pinnacle in 1977. |
