The pie charts indicate why Britains visited art museums in 1990 and 2000.
Overall, it is clear that the reason "to learn and gain knowledge" is the major reason why people went art museums. Also, the most of categories except for "to fill their travel schedules" are slightly increased from 1990 to 2000. In contrast, the figure of "to fill their travel schedules" is significantly dropped during the given time.
Looking at the pie charts more closely, one can see that the proportion of the purpose for learning was almost the half of the total and it rose, only one percent over the same period. In addition, the reasons "to spend time with familiar people" and "attend a special exhibit" are identical as 12 percent in 1990. But these shares of both categories went up to 17 and 18 percent in 2000. Whereas the number of people who visited for their travel schedules are decreased the most over the ten years until 2000. Meanwhile, the proportion for "to buy art" was the lowest amount compare to the other categories in 1990. However, it became higher than the category "others" in 2000.
