The bar graph illustrates how buying and drinking habits for coffee differ in the last 4 weeks among Australian residents in five different cities which are Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Hobart.
Overall, it is clear that the majority of residents prefer to buy coffee or tea from a cafe in all cities except Adelaide, where buying instant coffee was done slightly more. Moreover, the percentage of people buying instant coffee is higher than those buying fresh coffee in all five cities.
Looking at the bar graph more closely, one can see that nearly 63% of Melbourne residents went to a cafe. The figure of Hobart is close behind at approximately 62%, followed by that of Sydney at roughly 61%. In contrast, Adelaide has only 49% residents buying coffee or tea from a cafe, the lowest share among the five cities, while Brisbane has six percent more residents going to a cafe.
Furthermore, in terms of instant coffee, it is notable that the share of people who bought instant coffee is the highest in Hobart at 54%, followed by Brisbane where it's proportion is slightly less than Hobart's. However, Sydney has the lowest figure for instant coffee at roughly 46%, which is 3 percent less than Melbourne's figure. Meanwhile, the proportion of people who bought fresh coffee in Sydney accounted for 43%, the highest figure among all cities in question, while those in Brisbane made up only 34%.
