Your Answer ▼ Recently, the popularity of history is dropping gradually. Some people say that since cost on the search of the past is unnecessary, concentrating on current affairs or problems should be an essential part. I totally agree with the view for the following reasons.
The main Main reason that supports my view is that the past is different compared to these days because the public's aspect about the society is changing. Precisely, in Korea, most people strongly believed that males were more prominent than females in the past. Males could be were a king and received education. While Meanwhile, females were perceived as people of lower level than men, and could not obtain opportunities of education had not to become higher level person than male and could not obtain education opportunities. However, today, feminists are appearing and they claim that female's right is equal to that of males male's one. Although people can learn ancient's lessons through the history, it is not suitable for current aspects and the public will have trouble receiving things that ancients teach.
Moreover, research about the past require much costs. Historical events happened at least decades ago, and this brings about the need of efforts, time and costs to find the events. Even though the researchers spend a lot of time in finding of the past, they may not discover anything. (여기의 경우 '설령' 이라는 표현이 들어가면 좋을 것 같습니다. 그래야 앞 문장과 더 깔끔하게 이어지죠.) Meanwhile, if the costs are used for current problems, this problems are easily solved due to the short term. Then, it is more efficient to searching recent problems than the past.
To conclude, I can assume that since the search of the past is not effective, focusing on current affairs is beneficial due to the fact that the public today are changing and Concentrating on current issues is efficient.
