In recent years, a number of young generations are reluctant
to read papers or watch news programmes on TV. It is because of the
development of social media channels that allow the youngsters to get access to
news source directly. In my opinion, if the legacy media outlets are willing to
attract their users again, they need to increase the social media for their
channel service (비중을 늘려야 한다~로 더 구체화해주시면 좋을 것 같습니다.).
It is an undeniable fact that the popularity of social media
nowadays significantly increased increases. There are more and more social media
introduced to the public, and it prevents society from returning to news source they used
to use. Unlike the traditional media, including TV and newspaper, social media
have enough room for users to engage with the channel itself. Twitter, for
example, is open to all users to add their views and opinions when the
original writer posts the first article. It encourages active feedbacks
from the users who wish to be updated about the story.
To revive their presence as a news provider, news media
including TV broadcaster and paper publishers should increase the usage of
social media in their news publishing channel. It can increase user access
with their mobile or personal gadgets. It
can allow the user to feel updated when the original creator delivers them an
up-to-date story often than the previous way.
In conclusion, people will choose new media over the traditional
channels because of the delivery frequency and the attachment with the producer.
Considering this situation, if the television and paper adapt the way of online media do, it can enhance their engagement with their subscribers.
