For the last hundred years, the environment of urban areas has been so deteriorated
due to industrialism that the life of big cities does not seem to be good for human
health. However, in my opinion, there are some health benefits from the city life
such as a good hospital although pollutions, damaging to ones’ health, still
should not be ignored.
To begin with, the new diseases that have appeared lucidly demonstrate the matter pertaining
to this theme. The pollutants of the cities due to factories, cars and other factors

disease has risen more considerably in big cities for the last century, compared
to that of the countrysides. That is the reason why people normally consider that city
life would be harmful to human health. However, given that good hospitals and
activities of city life enable citizens to enhance health conditions,
inhabitants of big cities would also get benefits as for their health from city
life.
Firstly, the elderly tend to live in big cities recently to visit a famous hospital
easily. It is true that there is health service discrepancy between rural and
urban areas. Secondly, a fast-paced life in the big cities makes people more
active compared to that of a countryside county side. For instance, in megacities, people
use public transport instead of a private car to avoid traffic congestion. For

To sum
up, I found, ironically though, some beneficial factors of living in cities for
one’s health such as a famous hospital and active lifestyle. That is the reason
why I stand slightly against the typical idea on the inverse relation between
cities circumstances and health.
