It is a common belief
that the development of artificial intelligence will make human labour
obsolete. However, there is a more persuasive argument that work performed by
humans will always be important because there are certain fields that
artificial intelligence cannot alternate. On the one hand, it
is undeniable that artificial intelligence is taking on a number of jobs these
days. For example, in the past, artificial intelligence was generally applied
to only limited industry sectors such as factory lines. However, recently,
advancements in technology made it possible that artificial intelligence can be
used in various industries and it also includes certain jobs like art and music
that people have firmly believed that only human creativity could achieve. Nevertheless, I would
say that human workforce would remain as important as it was so far. This is
because there are several works that humans could perform better. For example,
people prefer to get massaged by human hands rather than by machines. Also, in
case of looking after babies and young children on daycare facilities, it would
never be possible to depend on machines and robots. This demonstrates that
human labour would always be on demand even in the future.
To sum up, while it
is apparent that artificial intelligence is taking up with human skills, I believe
that human labour would be considered as one of the important workforces
because it certainly has its own attributes. |
