Whilst some people underscore that all university students have to study whatever they are interested in, the others consider that they should only participate in subjects which will be effectively helpful in the future. There are rational arguments on both sides of this contentious topic, of which will be discussed in this essay, followed by my own take on the matter.
On the one hand (12월 목표님 실력이면 이러한 뻔한 on the one/other hand의 표현 없이도 충분히 좋은 표현을 사용하실 수 있을 겁니다.), some people believe that university students should research whatever they want to learn, considering the students choose their major based on their own preference. Therefore, the reason why they study in the university cannot be judged by a sole standard, such as efficiency. In addition, they are the adults who are responsible for their own choices. In other words, there is no one that can intervene with the subjects they choose in the university.
On the other hand, there are people who regard that undergraduates should learn fields that will be practical for their future. They assert that university is a kind of a step to prepare for the future, determining the value of the subjects students learn with whether they are helpful or not. It is the subjects associated with cutting-edge technology that they argue students should learn.
Those two aspects of argument have its own logical reason, however,: it is my firm conviction that attention should be paid to the tendency of students' choice. It should be allowed for studentsto learn hat students can learn what subjects they like. It is because whether the subject that a student opts for is worthwhile in the future does not depend on the monotonous reason, but the choices of students. |
