The given bar chart illustrates the percentage of residents' coffee and tea buying and drinking habits in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Hobart, Australia.
As an overall trend, it is clear that there are some differences in buying coffee and tea and their drinking habits by cities. In addition, the proportion of buying instant coffee and going to a cafe in recent 4 weeks was higher than that of buying fresh coffee in all cities. While people in Melbourne showed the biggest rate in visiting cafe for coffee or tea, those in Brisbane have the lowest rate in buying fresh coffee.
A more detailed look at the bar graph reveals that people who go to a cafe to grab a coffee or tea in Sydney and Melbourne account for more than a three-fifths of the total. However, this percentage was much bigger than that of buying instant coffee, with about 30 percent.
When it comes to Brisbane, Adelaide, and Hobart, there was a considerable gap of around 40 percent, 30 percent, and 30 percent, respectively, between buying new coffee and buying instant coffee. It is noticeable that Adelaide is the only city that the proportion of purchasing instant coffee is slightly higher than that of going to a cafe, with about 1 percent.
