The diagram illustrates information related to the process by which geothermal energy is used in the production of electricity.
In general, there are five main stages in the process, starting from pumping down cold water into the geothermal zone, to electricity from the generator.
In the initial stage of the process, cold water is pumped 4.5km down into the ground through the injection well. Following this stage, the water is steamed by hot rocks in the geothermal zone. Once the water has been heated, this is then pumped up to the condenser via the production well.
In the last two stages, the stream is occurred by the hot water in the condenser and this makes the turbine spin. In the following step, the turbine which is operated by steam powers the generator and rpduces electricity simultaneously. Finally, the produced electricity is transferred to the geothermal power plant.
