Q : The chart below shows global sales of the top five mobile phone brands between 2009 and 2013.
The bar graph illustrates how many mobile
phones are sold among the five most popular mobile phone brands (Samsung,
Apple, Nokia, LG, and ZTE) worldwide in three separate years (2009, 2011, and
2013).
Overall, one can see that Nokia led the
sales in the first two years while Samsung claimed the top spot in the end.
Generally speaking, ZTE’s market share stayed the same throughout the periods.
In 2009 and 2011, Nokia sold mobile phones
the most among these manufacturers, which was over 400 units. By contrast,
Samsung, which was the second-largest seller in the year 2009 and 2011,
surpassed the sales of Nokia in 2013, with around 450 units by Samsung and 250
units by Nokia.
The figures for the units sold by ZTE were nearly flat from 2009 to 2013, which were approximately 50 units. On the other
hand, the number of the sales by Apple had increased gradually during this
period, with around 20, 90, and 150 units respectively, whereas by LG had fallen slightly, which was around 120, 80, and 70 units.
