Nowadays, it is thought by some people that letting children
decide something, for example, what to eat or what to do on everyday matters
can lead them to be self-served. However (이거는 밑에서 정리해드리겠습니다.) Personally, I strongly agree with other people
who argue that allowing children to decide is good for youngsters since they
can make choices which matter for them.
One of the reasons why some people believe that allowing
children to decide on their own can let them believe that they are allowed to do
everything is that they will be only familiar with doing what they want even if
they have to follow others. It is obvious that sometimes, people should respect
others’ decisions in order those to be a part of the society. To illustrate, there must be
disagreements between individuals in a society since not everyone dreams the
same. If everyone in the society are only familiar with deciding whatever they
want, minor disagreements may become huge conflicts since they do not know how
to respect others. Therefore, children should be taught that there are some
moments which they have to accept things offered even if they do not want to.
On the other hand, others (여기는 other가 최대 한 번만 쓰이도록 바꾸시면 됩니다.) think that deciding on their own
as children has positive effects like making them more responsible on their
choices. In other words, growing up with the rights that they can decide on
everyday matters can help the children to learn the life lesson that they
should accept the consequences because there is no one to blame. Evidently, in
the future, they will be able to think thoroughly before choosing something in
their lives since they know the fact that they also have to deal with the following result
following.
In conclusion, although some people believe that allowing
children to decide whatever they want can end up with making them selfish, in
my opinion, it is better to do so since it leads them to be more responsible to
their decisions.
