It has been true that international
enterprises have expanded their boundaries throughout the globe, spreading the
trend of globalization over the world. Some people argue that this phenomenon is
deriving positive impacts on everybody. However, I am not in favor of this opinion
for a couple of significant reasons.
To begin with, the multinational
enterprises’ spreading to throughout the world give detrimental influences on
the domestic brands which have similar fields. The companies which go abroad
are renowned companies. Because people tend to purchase these kinds of products,
the domestic companies’ revenue would decrease. For example, when renowned brands
such as Nike and Adidas came to Korea at first, while numerous people gave a great
deal of attentions on these kinds of brands, they were less passionate at their
domestic products. As a result, Korea’s own brand Prospect peaked the lowest
profit in that year.
On top of that, people’s their own individualities
could disappear because globalization makes everything typical and general. Since
everyone purchases products of and buy similar brands, colors as well as shapes, they can no
longer show their own personalities which differentiate with others. For
instance, people can see a lot of merchandises and clothes on international
magazines, Tv and social media platforms. The problem is that if they keep buying
products which appeared on these media, their overall styles would become common and
same with others. This shows that globalization erases distinction among people causes people to have no
distinctions among them.
In conclusion, even though there would be
some beneficial effects on the people when multinational companies get through
the globe, it is undeniable that this causes destruction of the domestic market
and disappearance of diversity. |
