This chart
illustrates changes in the amount of natural gas consumed/consumption over the period from
1950 to 1990 in seven different countries.
As clearly
seen from the graph, Indonesia consumed by far the greatest amount of natural
gas over the entire period. They consumed 20000 units in 1950, but there was a
slight decrease around 2500 units in 1960 and 1000 units in 1990 respectively. The
consumption of natural gas in Spain increased gradually from under below 10000 units
in 1950 to about 18000 units in 1990.
In terms of
Japan, the amount of natural gas consumed was the smallest of all in 1950.
However, the figure rose continually over the research period, overtaking that
of Australia in 1980 and that of France and Japan in 1990. There was a rapid
downward trend in Australia between 1950 and 1990. The consumption of natural
gas in Australia declined as much as one-third during the entire period.
According
to the figures provided in the chart, Indonesia spent the greatest amount of
natural gas at about 20000 units over the entire research period whereas the
figures of Australia decreased gradually from 15000 units to 5000 units.
