The difficulties faced by people in attaining a stable job in their youth are becoming a thorny issue in many nations. This problem is caused due to the misconception that young people are irresponsible in their actions. Hence, employers cannot trust them to give them full-time jobs. In this essay, I will illustrate the significance of this stereotype and suggest improvements to resolve this issue. Juveniles or young adult employees are inexperienced compared to other fully-grown workers. Young employees are either students or recent graduates, which means they have been under the guidance of higher authorities, such as schools or parents for the majority of their lifetime. If there is an aggressive argument between a customer and a teenage worker, for instance, he won’t be able to resolve this issue because he may not have tackled such issues on his own earlier, and some senior member might have done that for him in the past. This lack of experience disables them from comprehending problems at work, leaving a bad reputation for their employers. Therefore, their bosses are framed with distrust for younger workers, exacerbating the problem of unemployment among the youth. A clear resolution to this is adopting an internship program to work. Since this situation is caused by one’s low levels of knowledge and skills related to work, having a training period can encourage them to learn and adapt to the new environment. In addition, assigning individual mentors to new employees is also highly suggested. The mentor can coach them more specifically, and it is empathetically more effective since mentors were also once in their position. Thus, young employees can attain the necessary skills for work, ultimately removing the stereotypical mindset of society. To conclude, it is difficult for people to find sustainable jobs in their youth due to their false reputation among potential employers. Society has framed teenagers and juveniles as poor workers simply because they are not reaching the expectations of adults. However, this problem can be solved through training periods and personalised mentors. These actions will prove that the misconception is wrong. |
