Opinions are divided whether these advances in electronic devices that altered children’s leisure time have a positive or a negative impact on their these youngsters. In my opinion, although there are certain advantages associated with this trend, their downside outweighs the upside in this situation. On the one hand, there are few merits in letting children be more attached to technology than going outdoors. First and foremost, the younger generation will have more opportunities to gain more fundamental knowledge if they are interested in certain areas. For instance, by watching television shows based on their interest such as geographical issues, these kids will learn much valuable information based on regarding that category. As a consequence, without any pressure and teaching, children would learn and understand a large variety of contents. However, there are some obvious drawbacks to this trend(사실 문단이 새로 시작될 때 지칭어를 써주시기 보다는 온전히 무엇을 지칭하는 것인지 풀어서 써주시는 것이 가장 좋습니다.). One of the most negative side effects is that if these adolescents are keen to play computer games or watch television rather than be a part of outdoor activities, they will be more prone in getting obese. Specifically, these children will become increasingly sedentary and passive if they spend more time indoors. As a consequence, these kids might be threatened with harmful diseases. Moreover, with fewer outdoor activities, youngsters will lack many crucial values that could only be picked up by mingling with their age groups peers. In other words, children will not know how socially interact with people and lack teamwork skills. All in all, despite the benefits as of new technologies, have been for that bring children to spend their leisure time by using them children’s leisure time, I contend that this trend is more likely to cause more problems in the long run. Therefore, the parents and school must work together to curb the excesses of the work(?) by balancing the indoor and outdoor activities of these youngsters during their leisure time. |
