The given bar graph illustrates how many books were read by men and women at Burnaby Public Library between 2011 and 2014.
Overall, in the first given year, the number of books read by women was more than that of books read by men. However, in the last year, the number of books that males read surpassed that of books that females read.
A cursory glance at the data reveals that in 2011, women read approximately five thousand books while men read around three thousand books. Furthermore, in the following year, the gap of the figures of books read by the two groups became bigger recording about four thousand books and almost eight thousand ones accordingly. Next year, the number of what men and women read recorded the same number, registering ten thousand.
Another eye-catching trend is that the figure of what men read in the final year accounted for about fourteen thousand books, which was the highest number over the given period. Meanwhile, the number of books women tapered off to its figure of 2012, recording eight thousand. |
