Some people argued that the market of paper-based
books would be devastated as e-book technology has been developed. These days, however, the printed book
market is still growing up and many people are visiting bookstores to buy books
they read. Thus, I disagree with the statement that anybody will not buy printed
newspapers or books anymore in the future due to no-paying free online contents. That’s That is (축약어는 풀어서 써주세요) because reading online contents is sometimes inconvenient and printed newspapers and books will have lots of advantages until the future.
To begin with, there are some subjects requiring
to people taking to take a note. It is difficult for readers to understand a subject like
mathematics without using a pencil. However, when reading online content about math
or physics, people unfamiliar with them should prepare papers to take a note to
understand them. By reading online contents, they might perhaps prepare lots of
things. For instance, I bought iPad devices to reduce the number of books in my
bag. However, when I study math, I still open printed books and take a note on
it. It helps to improve my understanding. Therefore, people in the future would
buy paper-based books to solve problems or understand the logic of math and physics
completely though there are the same contents online.
Moreover, newspapers will function as media
to know deliver important news. A newspaper is one of the best channels to know the day’s the
most important daily happenings because professional reporters reorganize them in order of
prominence. Also, a newspaper is not only lighter than a tablet with online
contents, but also bigger than the screen of smartphone. It allows people to read
anywhere such as on the subway or bus.(이 내용은 언뜻 보기에는 스마트폰이나 태블릿으로 뉴스를 보는 것도 충분히 가능하기 때문에 newspaper만의 이점이라고 이해하기가 어렵습니다. 차라리 electronical device에 익숙하지 않은 노년세대에게 충분히 newspaper은 가치가 있다, 혹은 가격적 측면에서 newspaper이 훨씬 싸서 부담이 없다는 식의 전개가 자연스러워보여요.) To be specific, a survey conducted in Korea showed that people prefer to read news with newspaper to do it with a smartphone on the subway. I
think newspapers will still work in the future because of their niche functions.
In conclusion, functions of online contents
even without paying seem difficult to substitute the present functions of printed
newspapers and books in the future. That’s That is because paper-based contents have
lots of different benefits from online contents. |
