It is more important for school children to learn about local history than world history
To what extent do you agree or disagree?
History is one of the essential subjects young students should learn. However, there is widespread concern within the public domain over the issue of whether educating local history is more vital than world history. This essay will illustrate that the significance of both education is equivalent, considering the great advantages they have.
Some people might argue that it is indisputable that learning local history is the way of find one's root because every individual has their hometown which has numerous amount of reminisces and affection based on the local environment. In addition, if students learn about their region, it allows them not only to have interests abut their region but also to become open-eyed while visiting the historical heritages in person. To illustrates, my hometown is famous for the temple where the great general Lee Soon-shin who has a sense of royalty and patriotism, was born. Hence, I and my friends learn about him and visited the temple to see a historical site in person, and it helps me interested in my region and cultivated local patriotism.
On the other hand, those who support the studying world history is more important point out that it becomes more critical in globalized contemporary society. Needless to say, world history is truly essential knowledge for children who will live and work in the stage of the world. By doing so, they can not only build a rapport with foreign friends but also understand various kinds of complicated international issues based on historical facts. Furthermore, they can satisfy their sense of curiosity, whlie broadening my horizons, enhancing understanding and acceptance of different cultures.
All things considered, I believe that world history and local history has the same importance without the order of priority.
