Some think that the main environmental problems of our time are due to the particular species of plants and animals being extinct while other people hold the view that there are more vital environmental problems. In this essay, I am going to discuss both these views and give my own opinions.
On the one hand, it is undeniable that the extinction of any species of plants, insects and animals can bring significant impacts on the food-chain, which can destroy ecosystems in our planet. For instance, in Australia, there is the world largest coral reef called, The Great Barrier Reef. It was very popular to many scuba divers for many years; however, recently, due to the coral’s death, divers cannot see the beautiful corals as well as a variety of fishes. It is because corals not only have a role of shelter for the fishes but also they produce food and oxygen for them. The dissertation of this coral reef has destroyed the balance of the ecosystem.
On the other hand, we can think about why the aforementioned the collapse of the ecosystem problems has occurred. On the bottom line we could think of pollutions, global warming and over flooding trash in the ocean. We have been witnessed a lots of sea animal's death because of the trash and the water temperature changes. I cannot stress enough that at the end of the day, the one who will be the next victim will be us, human.
In conclusion, the importance of preventing extinction of animals and plants is vital; however, in my opinion, we need to tackle the pollution, weather changing problems that caused the loss of some of the plants and animals. That way, I believe, we can save our planet.
