The given bar chart plots the number of accidents
and injuries per 100 million passenger miles travelled (hereafter PMT) which are
categorized by public transportation types in 2002.
All
in all, columns of incidents in the chart are higher than that of injuries. While
the number of incidents and injuries of demand response illustrates by far the
largest in the chart, that of commuter rail shows the lowest.
When it comes to the incidents, almost 250 passengers per 100
million PMT came across in the demand response and it is followed by that of light
rail and bus (큰 상관은 없는데, 둘이 순서를 바꿔주시는 게 좋긴 합니다.) which show the exact same number but less than one-third of demand
response cases. The incident cases of commuter rail depict less than 25, heavy
rail has doubled event, 50.
With regards to injuries of passengers, demand response
shows around 175 injured cases which is thrice as high as that of bus. Passengers
who were wounded in heavy rail and light rail shows the similar number and commuter
rail has less than 25 cases per 100 million PMT which can be considered as the
