In regards to students studying abroad, I
strongly believe that there are both positive and negative effects of the
trend. While it is clear that students may achieve valuable lessons, such as
foreign language education and independence development, there could be
potential drawbacks of study in foreign countries. For parents, it will cost a
lot to support their children abroad, and reduced parental regulation can
affect young children’s development.
On the one hand, study overseas is a great
opportunity for students to broaden their horizons and learn various things. In
foreign countries, students often encounter unexpected problems, and they need
to find a way to solve the issue by themselves. During the process, students
can develop independence. In addition, it is commonly agreed that the best way
to learn foreign languages is to be overly exposed to the languages. Therefore,
being abroad will provide a chance to learn foreign languages effectively.
On the other hand, the popular trend may
result in negative consequences, such as a lack of parental education on young
children and financial issue of parents. Living abroad costs a lot. This is
because students now need to pay for not only school fees, but also extremely
high living expenditures including rent fees and food. Given this, parents’
responsibility will be increased. On top of that, it could be dangerous for young children to go abroad
can be dangerous, because they are far away from their parents and some
parental education is necessary for young students to grow up right.
In conclusion, in my opinion, although
having students in foreign countries benefits to develop independence of
individuals and learn foreign languages, potential problems co-exists.
Regarding parents’ influence on their children, the new phenomenon financially affects
parents and reduces children’s chances to be educated by their parents.
