These days, constructing roads and railways for various vehicles is common issue for governments and citizens. Some think that the government should spend much money on railways rather than roads, but others insist. I strongly agree that the government spends much taxes for building railways.
First of all, constructing railways is more efficient and practical to decrease a traffic jam in most cities. There are more and more people prefer to live countrysides rather than urban cities, but they should use their personal vehicles to go to work and it caused a rush hour in highways and street roads. If the government builds more railways from countryside to city centre, people use taking trains for their work, because trains are faster, cheaper and even more convenient than cars. It is evident that building railways than roads is more advantages to ordinary people for their life.
Moreover, the government should spend money on railways due to environmental purpose. This is because, as I mentioned above, most people use their car to go to work and car is consumed fossil fuel caused to diffuse a lot of carbon emission in the air. If the government construct more railways to various directions, people do not need to ride their car. For example, according to a recent research from South Korea, people are more likely to take a train than a personal car, if they can find the train line which provide their objective direction. It is apparent to decrease use of car among citizens, the government develops more railways than roads, because these reduce destroying environment by car use.
To conclude, I contend that the government should spend money on railways rather than roads. This is not only for efficient and practical life for citizens, but also for preventing environment of their country. |
