It has became more common for people to travel abroad. Some people believe that this trend caused environment problems and they would like to restrict the international travel. While I understand this view, I think it is unnecessary to restrict international travel to protect environment.
Admittedly, there might be some drawbacks to travel international in terms of environment. Firstly, people who comes from other countries trigger some environment destruction. For example, some tourists throw easily their trash and even make doodles on historical sites. In addition, the methods disposed of trash disposing are different in every countries, they can occurs cause pollution unintentionally. Secondly, governments can not obligate to foreign tourists about this problems. In fact, it is difficult to punish foreign tourists who did illegal behavior.
However, I think that preventing international travel is not fundamental solution. To begin with, environment problems are generated by all types of travels, both national and international. Furthermore, there are many positive impacts on the overseas trip. For example, overseas trip contributes to develop tourism industries and global economy. So governments have to make new policy to protect environment, instead restricting international travel. They should establish some policy of environment problem, and reinforce law focused to foreign tourists.
In conclusion, there are both benefits and drawbacks to restrict international travel to prevent environment problems. However, the advantages of overseas trip are more lot than disadvantages, and I believe we can solve the negative problems by making appropriate policies. So I disagree to the view of restricting overseas trip. |
