Water is an
essential resource as it sustains human life. While many think that accessing to
clean water is a basic human right, others believe that this should be restricted by the government because the fresh water is a finite resource. I will discuss both views and explain my own opinion.
On the one hand, it is fair
to say people do have a basic right to use clean water as they want. In our daily life, we use the water for dishwashing,
laundry, shower, and drinking. Thus, any restriction
on the water use lead to poor hygiene and inconvenience. Moreover, fresh
water is an essential element for human survival. Many health experts explain that human should drink
2 litres of water at least every day as our bodies are made up of two thirds of
water. Thus, for human survival and being healthy, we should have a right to
access fresh water without any governmental intervention
On the other
hand, I believe that water supply have to be controlled by the government.
Water is a limited resource, so it will be exhausted if we use as much as we
want. We can easily waste water in everyday life when taking a shower and washing
dishes. Thus, in order to prevent it, governmental control is required. Furthermore, it is the ethical and moral
responsibility of the current generation to save natural resource like fresh
water for the future generations. Hence, government authorities have to restrict
the usage of water and make the citizens aware about the disastrous results of paucity
of fresh water. By the regulation,
I assume that we could not only reduce the water waste in households but also preserve
it for the next generations.
In
conclusion, saving
fresh water for the future generation is the foremost responsibility of the current
generation, therefore the government should restrict the usage of water. |
