It is commonly seen that businesses advertises their products as “new” thing in their field. There are some reasons why this phenomenon happened is happening. And I believe that it is a negative development. To begin with, it is obvious that a business cannot survive in extremely competitive society with normal marketing strategy. Moreover, customers have a tendency to be obsessed with the new technology or function of products. For example, as the extent of technology has been developed exponentially in the short period of centuries, to make a making innovative breakthrough become became really demanding. But customers cannot feel markedly a difference between the previous one and the same new products with upgraded function. Those cannot intrigue of client’s attraction attention even though it took a huge amount of money and time for the upgrading. On the top of that, the word of “New” can give an opportunity that a customer to make customer approach to their products. As this factor makes a company competitive and stand out, they usually use this way of advertisement. However, it is hard to see that it is a positive phenomenon. First of all, there are a lot of fake meaning of “new” tag on their product. In detail, some companies promote their products which are upgraded slightly as new product. This way of advertisement can seduce older people wanting to give it as a present to their son or relatives. The problem, however, is that they do not know much about information about those products. Second, it is a commonplace that although they advertised their products as fresh and new things, same products have been are sold in online market. In this case, even if someone know knew a thing or two about information about it, the advertisement can seduce people to do impulse buying. Given these problems, there is no doubt to claim that it is a detrimental phenomenon nowadays. To sum up, there are some reasons why businesses exaggerate their stuffs as “new”; to draw attention to their products and being to be competitive in their field of market. If all companies advertise properly, it cannot be an issue. However, as it still has problems in terms of what does exactly “new” mean, I considered this phenomenon as a negative development.
