The world we live in nowadays is literally the age of
information. It is considered crucial by governments, corporations for sure,
but also by individuals in the present day. And it is considered by some that
it should be spread as widely as possible in the various field such as
scientific research, trades and the education. On the other hand, there’s this
view that sharing information that is too significant or valuable should be
regulated. I believe that although we have a certain freedom and right to
access and share as much information as we want, some should not be shared
without any limitation.
I am not denying the benefit of sharing information
itself, of course. In the process of scientific study, for example, scientists
are required to share and review as much relevant information as possible with
other scientists in order to reduce trial errors and smoothly achieve the
result they want. Also in businesses, information regarding the market, price
should be opened in order for all the economic parties to make the best
economical decision so that it could eventually benefit the entire economy. It
can also help teachers, students teach and learn way easier than it used to be
on the spread of information.
However, what
if all the information, where some of it could be too crucial and valuable, is
shared to literally anybody? Imagine if information which is so important but
way too scientific is distributed to the general public. Some people would not
understand properly for sure so that they could produce wrong information on
their own and share to each other which could cause a chaos. Think about a
situation that a secret technology of company has been stolen to another
company, even worse, another country. That could affect not only the company
but also the entire economy of the nation.
To conclude, although
our worlds have been benefiting from information in a lot of ways, a provision
of institutional strategy for the protection of critical information must be
discussed at the same time. |
