Today’s working environments become more collaborative. Some people believe that it is important to teach young kids how to play in a team, while others think that it is not meaningful. In my opinion, I believe that playing team sports can be a chance to learn team working skills.
Physical activities might not help the future success of children. Sports teams cannot be the most effective without sustainable efforts of members. For children, sport is not the main activity to do, so they will be care less about their team. They might think that playing sports is a way to release suppressed stress. They might become overly competitive and bully others in the same team.
However, doing activities as a team can be a way to practice communication skills with many different people. Especially sports games provide an extreme environment for children, and experiencing this can help them be more dynamic and flexible communicators. As paid workers, they will be able to make better relationships not just with their team members, but also with their employers or customers.
In conclusion, I agree that children with an experience of team sports can perform better when they work in the future. This is because workplace is collaborative and more importantly, dynamic. For them it will be necessary to be a team player first because teams are everywhere at work. |
