Museums and historical places have always been popular attractions for people around the world. However, it is generally acknowledged that most of the visitors are foreigners and these sites fail to attract the sites of locals. This essay will elaborate on the plausible reason behind this phenomenon and provide feasible solutions that could boost the number of local visitors to museums and historical attractions. There are several reasons why the local citizens show no interest in museums and historical sites. First of foremost, these historical architects are so familiar to the locals. In other words, since these locals are brought up from those areas and those historical places are so familiar to them; they do not feel the urge to explore further. In addition, the entrance fee might not be feasible for the locals. The charging fee might discourage the local people to go visit again because nobody wants to pay again to watch the same artwork. Nevertheless, there are some possible solutions to attract more locals to go visit museums and historical locations. Firstly, these places could bring up some new events to attract the local citizens. In other words, community activities could be organized by the museum such as exhibitions or cultural events to attract the locals. In addition, museums and historical places could be commercialized through media and encourage more locals to come and visit. As a consequence, there would locals in all age groups would be aware of those events that are held in museums and historical attractions. In conclusion, most of the locals tend not to visit this place because they do not feel the urge to explore more in those areas. However, by organizing more interesting events and deducting the fees for the locals, it would boost the number of local visitors. |
