The film industry has been growing significantly in recent years. It is increasingly common to see foreign movies in local cinemas and theaters. Opinions are divided over whether releasing foreign movies has a negative effect on local cultures. In my opinion, I strongly opine that foreign films are indicated to be available to everyone since the merits overshadow the demerits. First of all, it is true that foreign movies are extremely popular all over the world. The main reason is that the qualities of many imported movies are much higher than local movies. As a result, foreign movies are getting more popular, reducing local and national films support. This trend lead stereotype to the society that foreign movies are better to compare to local films. As a consequence, it will affect local movies value in the film market, which will be detrimental to the development of local films forever. On the other hand, I claim that importing movies from other countries holds greater importance. Firstly, by exposing the opportunity to watch foreign movies, it will broaden the understanding of different cultures and enhance the connection with the world which could also be beneficial to personal development. Moreover, foreign films is a source of knowledge, people can learn different country’s history or perspectives by watching their released films. Consequently, it will help the audience widen their point of view. In surmise, although it is worrisome that people may lose interest in watching domestic films, I contend that playing foreign movies in local theaters holds greater importance for both individuals and the country. |
