People have different opinions about the issue that teenagers are encouraged to get part-time jobs while they are still students. While there are some people think its disadvantages are bigger than its advantages, other people think its advantages outweigh its disadvantages.
To begin with, some people think there are more disadvantages than advantages on the issue about working students especially because part-time jobs distract students and make them exhausted. Work make them get less free time, and this can even disturb them focusing on their studies. For example, recent research has shown that students who work as part-time workers tend to get lower grades than students who do not work. Plus, it has stated that students who work for more than 15 hours per week tend to have lower attendance rate than their counterparts. As a result, teenagers who work as part-timer can have disadvantage.
Nevertheless, there are other people who think its advantages is bigger than its disadvantages with some reasons including that part-time jobs teach students how to succeed in society. Working students have to observe regulations and complete tasks as soon as they can. For instance, students working at a fast food restaurant get to learn how to work with many rules that they can’t learn in school. In addition, they can learn how to complete their works within limited time as they have to give nice service to customers. Therefore, students who work can get considerable advantages as well.
To sum up, while it is apparent that teenagers who work can have disadvantages because of get distracted, it is undeniable that it is more convincing opinion that the advantages of teenagers working outweigh the disadvantages because of learning the way to succeed in society. |
