It is not hard to find some cities where people who come from various countries and have different culture live together as many people go to abroad for work and study and some of those decide to immigrant to that country. Even though it is natural phenomenon, In this case, the role of government is to intermediate those people is essential. First of all, the government can hold some events that people can experience culture of a specific country as some issues of multicultural countries are likely to come from misunderstandings of the culture. For example, Korean take off their shoes when going inside home, while, in some countries, people don’t. Hence, it could be an opportunity for them to understand different culture so that cultural conflict can be reduced. Also, the department that is responsible for the education can make resources that teach students about accepting differences in terms of appearance, race from primary school. “Racism” is still one of big problems in that multicultural city. We all know that it is unacceptable, but sometimes we do it unconsciously or some people do on the purpose, which possibly lead to argument and even fight. If students are taught from young age, this issue would significantly disappear, especially when they are grown. The more cities would be changed to multicultural cities for the future. Thus, it would be more important for the government to deal with any issues that can occur in this environment and make everyone live happily. |
