Nowadays, most people
find information through internet. With a click, we can go to articles about
the Russia Ukraine war, U.S. super high inflation, and 2022 World Cup. However,
someone says printed books or newspaper has its own value which can be
differentiated to e-books or online articles such as quality of essay, various
perspectives, and eye fatigue. I think in the future, the values of printed
newspaper or books will not disappear.
First,
there is an invisible intrinsic value to the analogue way of reading. When we
give a present to a favorite friend, we can show our mind to him better with
printed book, not an e-book. Because, with the visible reading thing, we can
memorize the feeling of the time we get a book present from the best friend. Sometimes
it can touch my mind, and sometimes it can give fun. However, with an e-book, usually we don't see the book except the time to read, and it means we cannot feel our personal experience.
Second,
eye fatigue is a key issue in modern society. Compared to an analogue book, e-book
can give more fatigue to eyes. When we read a book or an article, most of time,
we spend lots of time to see small dark letters. In my case, I spend about 3 hours to read books when I
have enough time to. It means to get enough information or thought from the readings, we should
treat eyes safely with using non-electronic methods like printed books or
newspapers.
In
conclusion, there will be popularity of using analogue reading methods like printed
newspapers or books in the future. Because they have their own strength points on
‘personal experience’ and ‘health issue’. |
