With incredible developments of technology, nowadays, some young students spend a lot of times on their mobiles. There are both some positive and negative effects on this situation. But I consider its drowbacks are overweighted.
In terms of advantages of this situation, there are many mobile applications that make people connected such as LINE, Kakaotalk, Wechat and so on. Maintaining close relationships with friends is one of the most important things in childhood. They can keep in touch with their peers wherever they are. And by using their smartphones, they can broaden their sights. In many websites, they can see a lot of interesting and useful experiences from other people. By simply surfing those sites, they can get various knowledge including educational contents.
But there are also many harmful contents in websites, and possibly, children cannot identify what is real and what is useful or not. They are easy to be influenced by inappropriate contents floating the ocean of information, and their parents cannot entirely control what they see online. Also it is severe problem that children like to mimick what they saw without recognition. And spending too much time on mobile can harm their health. Many people use their smartphones with bad position. They do not want to go out and exercise. They also watch videos in dark room. This behaviour can cause not only bad sights but also sleeping disorder. Especially for children, they have to exercise and move a lot to grow up properly. Needless to say, there is no time to study.
For these reasons, I think that for children spending too much time on their gargets is negative outcome. |
