▶ Your Answer : Some people might argue that leaders do not have to spend more time listening to other people than talking their ideas, while others do not. Both arguments may have their own reasons to support their views. If I had to choose one, I would say that best leaders have more time listening to other people than talking their ideas.
First of all, listening to other colleagues increases the effectiveness at work. People can not work alone all the time at work. Most works involves a lot of workers. People have to collaborate with others to complete the work perfectly. However, if the leader ingnore other people's opinion, the team can not be developed. If the leader try to listening to other staffs, they can make up one another and it lead a good team. In my case, my boss did not listen team members. When one delivery supplier had an accidents so the delivery schedule was delayed. First time, he tried to handle this problem by himself, but he could not cover it. In my team, one of colleagues had a similar experience and he gave the advice to the boss. He listened to the colleague and found the another delivery supplier and take care of the problems.
Also, it motivates team members to have passions of the works. If leaders only do talking without listening, other staffs and team members would not suggest their opinion and not try to improve their work. It bothers they are into the work. Otherwise, their opinon would be accepted, they have more responsibility of their job and work more hard. My younger brother was very smart, so he did not listen to other people. When he became a project leader at colleague, he ingnore other students' opinions. Later, he realized that he had to prepare everything alone and nobody wanted to work for the project. He apologized the team members and asked them to help him. Finally his team got a first prize at the presentation's contest.
To sum up, I believe that my explanations above sufficiently prove the advantage of spending more time listening to other people than talking their ideas. Obviously, the significant of effectiveness and motivation, firmly believing that talking other peoples' opinions will benefit them more in the future.
