▶ Topic : Drivers should pay an additional fee for driving where there is the greatest amount of traffic.
Some people tend to take driving where there is the serious traffic jam for free for granted. However, in my opinion, people who drive where there is an enormous amount of traffic should pay congestion pricing. I feel this way for two reasons, which I will explore in the following essay.
To begin with, it would help the government improve the quality of cities' transportation systems. An important reason is that charging congestion pricing can increase the revenue of the government. Thus, the government can invest the revenue on a variety of public transportation facilities. For example, Busan, a port city of Korea, after charging tons of fees for driving traffic jam roads, started to implement a policy that expanded public infrastructures, such as-a public place to relax and take a rest for a lot of drivers, hybrid buses, and all the harder confident subway stations. As a consequence, citizens living Busan could enjoy more convenient life related to public transportation ever than before.
On top of that, it can decrease the amount of air pollution. This is mainly because when paying an extra fee for driving where there is the serious traffic jam, a number of drivers probably would take public transportations, such as-sub way or buses. Therefore it enables the amount of air pollution to significantly reduce, resulting in a great fresh city environment. For instance, Seoul, a capital city of Korea, last years, started to charge traffic jam pricing as a part of reducing the amount of driving the traffic jam regions and improving air condition. Amazing enough, no sooner did the government conduct this policy before the rate of air pollution in the city was cut about by 20 percent. What is difference! Obviously, this is why many people would take public transportation instead of driving their own cars as having drivers pay the extra fee.
Taking all of these things into consideration, what I advocate boils down to the assertion that the government should pay an additional fee for driving congest traffic areas. This is because not only can it help the government improve public transportation infrastructures, but it also decreases the amount of air contamination.
