▶ Your Answer :
Education is
surely necessary for every student to function in society, and universities
have a responsibility to promote all students to take a variety of courses even
if they are not related to their major. I agree so far as taking various
classes are beneficial for some students since they can prepare their future
and gain background knowledge more efficiently. However, the policy related
taking varied classes should be not a must for students who already acquired
these courses. Admittedly, such
college’s education policy is result in benevolent influence on undergraduate
students who require diverse backgrounds outside their field of study. As the
saying goes, “Knowledge is power”, Undergraduate students can grow up as a
well-balanced person through a variety of courses. Furthermore, taking these various
courses help them to build a strong foundation and prepare their future more
effectively. For example, there is one student who wants to career exchange
form the field of literature to engineering base. If he or she had not studied
a variety of courses while he was a university student, he would be faced with
many obstacles due to the scarcity of background knowledge. However, taking
diverse course reduce such a high barrier for career change and promote
students to become a versatile person. However, the
responsibility taking a lot of courses outside the student’s field of study
sometimes could occlude to enhance student’s own talents and skills. To be
specific, students who already experienced diverse fields of study desire to explore
more narrow and professional expertise. For instance, it is not effective to
take a Korean literature class for the graduated student who are major in
molecular biology. In this case, it is better to concentrate on his own major
research and improvement of his own talents. Therefore, university should not
force graduated students to take numerous courses. In my college, for example,
systematic education strategies are implemented in order to meet the different
kinds of purpose according to the student’s grade. In this strategy, my college
offers particular curriculum based on a student’s major and dream for graduated
students.
In conclusion,
although the policy related to take multiple courses have various advantages
for undergraduate students, it is not always the case. For graduated students,
a university should provide customized curriculum according to their major and
future plan and promote to focus on their field of study. |
