▶ Your Answer :
Generally speaking, the vast majority of people work day in and day out, because they need money in daily life. Although people try to pursue their dream via the work, it rarely happens due to the inherent attributes of the work, which has to do with making profits. Aside from making money, however, some people find diverse meanings through the work, which serve as other reasons why people work. Firstly, pure affection toward the work can be one reason that people work. People often find fundamental reasons to work by accomplishing rough tasks at work. Such type of people do not really care about how much they are paid, and instead, they put their passion on the work, since they love what they are doing from the bottom of heart. For instance, a friend of mine, who is a well-known fashion designer in Korea, has dedicated his life to creating and designing new clothes, since he loves what he does. Despite the fact that he did not make enough money few years ago, he always put his devotions on doing his works. Through his attitude toward the work, I come to realize the money is not the only reason to work. Secondly, people can function as a constitute of a society by doing work. Since people are designed to be a social animal, they have willingness to become a part of the society. In this regards, working enables people to get into the society as a constituent. For instance, my dad who used to work as a public servant for more than 30 years retired last year. For more than two months after retirement, he felt depressed and lethargic on everything. However, he was fully recovered from the depression after finding new place to work thanks to the recommendation of his old colleague. Every morning he says to my family that going to workplace makes him to feel live. All in all, although it is inevitable that the primary purpose of working is to make money, working gives other influences to individuals. From time to time, people purely love the work itself, or realize they are a part of the society due to the work. I believe that the more reasons for working are generated, the more people can fully contribute to their work. |
