Some
people might say that it is not a wise approach to try out several different
jobs before committing to a long-term job. However, I believe that trying out a variety of occupations before one's
life job, even if it would take more time than starting a long-term job from
the first moment, has more advantages. First, it can get you more experiences in life. Second, when people have worked in
lots of fields, they can would have broadened
their own network.
To begin with, the more jobs you try out, the
more experiences you will get. This is very
important because as you experience a wide array of jobs, you will get aware of
your aptitude. In our modern world, people who have many experiences, whether it is they
are about job fields or about their life, are respected and not ignored
by others. Also, they can proceed to gain
success while they are if they grow by
experiencing any obstacles and failures during the process. For example, my
brother wanted to be a financial consultant when he was a college student.
Although he could go to a big corporate right after his graduation, he just
applied to another middle-sized company to experience various jobs. He tried to
get a lot of useful information and experience while working in it. As a
result, when he finally got to work as a consultant, he could feel satisfied
with his bountiful experience and be confident
about his job.
On top of that, people can have a wider network in their communities when they try out
different kinds of jobs. Having a wide network these days is beneficial for
people even when they move to other companies. To be specific, they can learn
plenty of things from their older or younger generations. A narrow range of relationships
with other people means they would end up
getting only a narrow view. A broad network lets people lead a pleasant and
meaningful life. For instance, a study was conducted by a group of sociology
majors to determine whether having a good
relation can make people live a better life. There were two groups monitored. One group was formed of people who have a respectable number of acquaintances around them and the other had only a few people
whom they know or talk to. The researchers found that people in the former
group live a much happier and successful life.
They said they could enjoy themselves more and get more help from people around
them.
To sum up, trying out many jobs is
advantageous because it builds your experience and lets you have a broader network. In this regard, I firmly believe
that just dedicating to a long-term job first is not the best way to live a
desirable life.
