Although there is no complete consensus that has been
reached on this topic, yet I would like to take a stance with one of the given
options that the most important action for the government to take for
protection of natural environment is to pass and
enforce laws to reduce the pollution produced by companies and industries. In
order to substantiate my central focal points, I will provide specific reasons
and explore the given topic in great detail in this essay.
To begin with, I firmly believe that the most important action for the
government to take is enforcing laws to reduce the pollution produced by
companies and industries. This is because, it is the fastest way to regulate
and punish factors that going go against the protection of natural environment. Opponents of my
perspective claim that it would be better to fund research on new energy
resources or to preserve natural places.
Proponents of this view raise several points as
the rationales for their argument and their argument might have some validity.
But after closer look, there exists an abundance of examples that calling
call into question what they claim. Among such
examples, my personal experience can elucidate their incorrect viewpoint. I
used to live in Seoul, the capital of Korea. It was once became one of
the biggest issues in my town that pollutants from industries near my town
contaminated water severely and affected the natural
environment from many sides. Accordingly, one of public organizations
from my town claimed to enforce laws and regulate the industries to reduce the
pollutant emission from industries to the mayor of Seoul. Consequently, the
mayor enforced the law for regulating the
industries, and pollutants are were prominently
reduced.
The account of mine that I illustrated above is not the only evidence to
support my view. A recent survey conducted by one of the leading educational
consulting firms in Korea endorsed my opinion when the respondents were asked
whether they sided with the argument that the most important thing for the government to take for protection of natural
environment is to pass and enforce laws to reduce the pollution produced by
companies and industries or not. A leading education expert claimed that most of pollutants which affect natural
environment is were from companies and
industries. The expert also states stated
that according to the recent research, natural environment is was polluted from industries and companies from huge
amounts of pollutants which also involves a
high level of toxic materials. He also states stated
that it is really important to enforce laws for the companies and industries
who take large parts of pollutants, because it
is the fastest way of protecting the natural
environment.
In conclusion, in spite of the fact that there may be some opinions that the
government must fund research on new energy resources
or to preserve natural places, taking into account all the factors that I
described above, we may reach to the conclusion that the government must
enforce laws to regulate companies and industries to reduce pollutants from
them.
