The news media is a reliable source of unbiased information.

Many people believe that news media is a reliable source for information and argue that we can trust its news. However, in my opinion, the news media is frequently biased and provides prejudiced views. This is largely because its profit heavily depends on specific private companies company, and the news media has its own special political preference.
To begin with, the news of media is affected by the company which pays for advertisement fee to the news corporation. To put it in another way, the news media is, fundamentally, not different from other companies in that it has to make money to operate. Because its revenues are usually derived from the advertising company which pays huge amount of money, its providing information can be affected by this sponsorship. For example, Seoul Broadcasting System, as known as SBS, gets more than 70% of its profits from the Samsung corporation. Thus, its information tends tend to be extremely favorable to Samsung's business activity. When Samsung polluted the Han river due to its the leakage of harmful chemicals, many media* medias criticized Samsung's misbehavior. However, but only SBS did not broadcast the news, for fear of losing its main revenue resources. Thus, the news media is sometimes not reliable as the source of unbiased information.
On top of that, each news media has its own political stance, whether it prefers to the Right party of the Left party. This biased preference certainly affects the contents of many news. For instance, the New York Times officially represents its support for the Democratic party in the presidential election. In reality, one communication research center analyzed how NYT's news was biased between the Democratic party and the Republican one. It showed that NYT's news was positively biased for the president Obama very frequently. Its news was statistically favorable to Obama's policy regardless of areas, from economics to diplomacy, even if it turned out to be failed. From the example, we can argue that it is not right to believe that the news media is neutral when it comes to its information. It has its own political preference position, thus its news becomes biased toward a specific person and organization. main idea를 뒷받침하기에 알맞은 내용의 사례입니다.
All things considered, the news media is not a reliable source of unbiased information. Rather, it contains lots of prejudiced and implicitly biased news because of its dependence on specific company and its political stance. Thus, we should be careful when we read newspapers or watch TV. It will be very dangerous to believe whole contents without any doubts or criticism. People must analyze news carefully and interpret it as their our own way. By doing so, we can filter out biased information and get neutral and fair knowledge.
