▶ Your Answer :Some people argue that in the case of
learning cooperation and improving friendship, it is better for students to
have group projects. However, I have a different idea. When it comes to the
statement that it is good way to evaluate student by giving group workings and
same grade, I can’t agree. The fact is, this
way can make other students not to participate well, and this system gives too
much work to leader.
To begin with, granting same grade to
students in a team reduces mind to concentrate on working. Making projects with
other students requires much of cooperation and there must be some of students
who are very good at it and poor at it. Most of group projects are led by
intelligent students to get high score but gaining same marks is possible to
make them feeling overwork because they couldn’t get higher than they expected unless helping each other is going efficiently.
On the other hand, students who get lower grade can think they could get higher
score by others even if they don’t
work so much. This results in bad grade for every student.
In addition, having group projects can
provide a lot of pressure to leaders more than ever. To complete their working,
they have to manage every student who is participating, check data to add as
well as making projects with other participants. One of the big problems is
that if working together with others isn’t going on, much of responsibility is toward the leaders. My
experience is one of the good examples. I had a group project when I was
studying in high school. As finishing time was short, I made appointment with
others on the specific time. However, most of them said their problems and only
a few of students came. So I spent lots of time to work on the project and speech
myself.
In summary, having group project isn’t that bad, but it comes problem when students in
a team get same score although only someone works harshly. In this regard, I
don’t believe that receiving
same grade in group works one of the good ways. |
