▶ Your Answer :
Both
the reading passage and the lecture deal with nuclear energy. According to the
reading passage, there are some serious potential problems that can be caused
by nuclear plants. However, the points made in the article are totally
contradicted by the lecturer’s claim that it is nuclear energy that the most
realistic energy source on the world.
To
begin with, the article says that nuclear energy can create health concerns
because of the radioactive material and overheat. On the contrary, the lecturer
casts doubt on this point by asserting that it is nonsense that nuclear plants
can induce health problems. This is because power ban reactor can automatically
slow down the speed of motor so that the temperature won’t rise at the point of
concerning.
On
top of that, the reading argues that it is too expensive in order to erect
unclear plants. This perspective is also challenged by the lecturer’s claim
that although it is costly to build those plants however, the fuel of plants,
uranium, is much cheaper than oil and gas. In addition, the speaker indicates that
the overall cost of a nuclear plant is just the initial cost of building.
The
last point made in the reading is that there are some other sources, such as
wind energy which are both cheaper and better than nuclear energy. The
lecturer, however, contradicts his point by asserting that wind power differs
time to time, so it is less reliable than nuclear energy. He suggests that
nuclear energy can produce ceaseless amount of power, so it is more reasonable
to harness nuclear energy.
