▶ Your Answer :
Some people might argue that the decisions
that people made quickly are always right. However, I believe that people
should take time to make correct decisions for two reasons. First, people
should listen to others’ advice in order to make a right choice. Second, people
need to get objective viewpoints from others for the better decision.
To begin with, others with various
experiences give different kinds of advice needed for the better decision and
it takes time. This is because each person has their own opinion, and it is
recommended that people discuss every possible decision and its consequences in
order to make the right choice. Through the discussion, people can share their
knowledge with others, and take a look at the problem from different sides and
aspects. For example, when I had to choose which university to enter as a
senior in high school, I received plenty of help from my teachers and
relatives, who had already gone through university. After pondering over all the
list of universities they mentioned to me, I was able to make the appropriate decision
on where to go for my future career. In this respect, others with various
experiences have a greater effect on making the best decision.
In addition, the third parties can convey
an objective viewpoint on a matter for the better determination. In other
words, they are more apt to see the matter clearly and help a person to make an
unbiased decision. Therefore, people should listen to objective viewpoints and
avoid make decision quickly. According to recent studies in Psychology, people
tend to become considerably subjective in making an important decision on their
own. The studies added that it usually results in negative or unsatisfying
results. For instance, in college, I experienced getting a poor grade on a
group project because of my assertive group leader. Although all the members
disagreed with his idea and suggested other alternatives to him, he did not
listen to our opinions and proceeded with the project by his own decision.
However, it eventually turned out that he led the team in the wrong direction
after every member got the lowest same scores with the same feedback. Had he
been wise enough to listen to others, the test results would have been
different. It can be inferred that others’ objective viewpoints are beneficial
to make the better determination.
To sum up, the importance of my view cannot
be underestimated in that it can kill two birds with one stone for the reasons
I have mentioned above. All in all, this trend will continue for the next
generation. |
