While there may be pros and cons regarding the argument that art and
music class should be required in young children's education like science and
math class, I am in complete agreement with the argument. In this paper, I
elaborate on the two strongest reasons for my position.
My
first argument for taking art and music class should be espoused. Art and music
class are actually entertaining and, therefore, make young children laugh and
fill them with happiness and joy. Today's society moves and changes at a very
fast pace, so young children are driven by hectic lifestyles, so they often feel
gloomy and drained by increasing amounts of homework in the class. Many of
them, therefore, relieve some of their stress by taking art and music class. In
this context, taking art and music class for young children's education should
be permitted. My personal experience is a prime example. On a day-to-day basis,
I buried myself in work when I was little, and I was occupied by
homework-related matters throughout the day. Even worse, I was eager to be on
good terms with my teachers and parents, which made me utterly exhausted by the
smallest issues. I then listened to classical music in music class in school to
reduce my anxiety. To my surprise, even for a brief period of time, I could
unwind and escape from my stressful daily routine. Furthermore, I could feel
galvanized and ready for another day of struggle.
Moreover, my strong support for taking art and music class for young
children can be rationalized. This is because it can help young children to
develop a solid relationship with others. In today's rat-race society, young
children feel pressured to beat competition and spend more and more hours on
homework, therefore, they are hard-pressed for time and become alienated from
family members and friends. In this context, taking art and music class with
classmates and sharing happy moments can help them restore relationships with
others. Therefore, taking art and music class for young children should be
regarded as a significant pastime. According to a recent CNN daily podcast
(2013), four-fifths of surveyed young children said that they were able to
rebuild their ties with families and friends through taking art class such as
visiting the museum. The surveyed young children argued that with the help of
taking art and music class, for example, they could interact with others
frequently and develop close bonds, which increases emotional attachments.
Because of the reasons explained above, I strongly maintain that taking
art and music class for young children should be recommended within the unique
context of today's society. It can help relieve stress and strengthen close
bonds among their friends and families. |
