▶ Your Answer : Some people might think that thanks to advanced technologies, today it is easy to educate children. However, I believe that it is difficult to educate children because cell phone, online games, and social media interrupt their study for two reasons.
First of all, since children spend most of their time on cell phone, online games, and social network service they do not have enough time to study. Understanding the daily environment of children is necessary to substantiate that children spend much time on games or social media. These days, when children are at home after school, they usually run to the computer and play games with their friends. It is not a big problem if they play computer games or use cell phone for less than couple of hours. However, they do it until they have dinner, and even after dinner, they keep doing it. It is a bad situation because children do not have time to be exposed educational resources. For example, my younger brother, who is a elementary school student, like playing computer games. Even though, I help him to do his homework after dinner, he does not do his homework. Once he begins to play computer games, he does not stop doing it. The games deprived him of time to study or do homework.
On top of that, spending on much time on cell phone, online games, and social media is not good for children's concentration. In response to the increasing importance of people's concentration in early ages, many expert opinions and research statistics reinforce the idea that using cell phone and playing computer games too much are not good for children's concentration. Experts say that once children spend much time on cell phone and computer games, which were not in the past, cannot focus on their study because their brains do not function very well. When a child is exposed to those stuff for a long time, the frontal lobe, which is one area of the human brain, does not develop very well. The frontal lobe is very important because children's concentration depends on the development of the frontal lobe. In other words, spending much time on cell phone and computer games can spoil the growth of the brain. For example, a research shows that a group of children who play computer game for an hour achieve better academic performance than the other group of children who do for more than four hours. This research indicates that spending much time on computer games are not good for children's brain.
To sum up, I believe that it is difficult to educate children because cell phone, online games, and social media interrupt their study Consequently, the importance of my view cannot be underestimated for the reasons I mentioned above.
