Subject: Living in a big city is better than living in a small town? |
People have different walks of life have different stances of this issue. Living in a small town has still many advantages such as giving healthy life and less pollution. however, some people prefer to live in a big city. Also I love to live in big city rather than living in a small town for the following three reasons; first, more entertainments in a city life. Second, easy-access to many facilities. Third, many people from different areas give me unique experiences.
To begin with, living in a big city offers more exciting entertainments than that of in a small town. In a city, there are museums, libraries and theatres that I can enjoy a culture life. Full of valuable sources and exciting things attract me to stay in a big city. Let me take my own experience as an example. Before I went to college, I used to stay in a small town, Ulsan, which is my hometown for almost twenty years. Even if there were a theatre, I could enjoy only limited entertainments with my friends. Since only a few people went to see a film, they offered not various kind of genre. However, after moving to the city, Seoul, which is a biggest city in Korea, my life was totally changed. I became able to hang out with friends to many different places. Living in a big city offers me an exciting life.
Second, more time saving and less costs to commute by living in a city. As long as people work, they need to go to work on a regular basis. People usually waste amount of time for commuting. Living in a city, however, allows saving more time and costs. Since most of work places locate in a big city, people easily allows to access most places by a public transportation. Evidence for this statement from a new survey, two-thirds of people have a job surveyed answered that they prefer to stat in more accessible places which is close to their office. As long as they live near their work place, they able to save more time and money for commuting since they avoid the traffic jams and parking stress. Consequently, these kinds of benefits attract people to live in a city.
Lastly, people from different areas can make people have different experiences. In these days, the world is becoming smaller and into one. In my case, I have some friends who are from all different cities and countries. Prior to I met them, I used to make very narrow relationships with only a few classmates and family members since I had grew up in a small town. However, after I moved to Seoul, and met many friends in various societies such as a social community and a work place in Seoul. Also we had a party and shared our own traditional foods together. That was a very unique experience. If I had not met them, I could never have experienced different cultures and broaden my horizons.
