Although
many people, especially when they retire (the retirees),
tend to prefer to live in a small town, I strongly prefer to live in a big
city. (You started the sentence with “although.” How is
the retirees’ opinion related to yours that made you choose this start?) There
are a lot of merits for living in a big city, but the biggest merits for me are
like (the ones) below.
To begin with, there are lots of opportunities
to enjoy (in) cultural events. I really like to
listening to music and going to see some art exhibitions. However, If I
live in a small town that is far from a city, I cannot go to concerts of
popular musicians, and don't have an enough chance to see great exhibitions. This is
because there are less people who are eager to see those kinds of events and
less spaces where are good enough for those (cultural activities).
In addition, a big city is much better
for education if I have (of) children. According to a recent research which
was conducted by a well-known company in Korea, the most important reason for
living in a big city is a (the) good
environment of education. This is because there are many good schools and the other
educational institutes in a big city
so that their children can get better education. The society is getting more
competitive, so many people are required to be more competent to succeed. The education of good
quality from one's childhood can allow him or her to develop their ability more
easily.
In conclusion, I definitely prefer to live in
a big city to a small town as a big
city has a lot of advantages. I can enjoy various cultural events such as
concerts and exhibitions. Also there are more chances to get better education
to succeed comparing (compared) to a
small town.
