However, as far as I am concerned, I firmly believe that most advertisements allow products to seem more advantageous than they really are. That's because a lot of companies advertise good part of their products. Another reason for my opinion is that many consumers misunderstand when they see celebrities in the advertisements. To begin with, many commercials encourage people to see beneficial points of products. In other words, people are not able to see disadvantages of the products. So, when they receive the products, they can be disappointed. For example, my mother watched home shopping quite often. At that time, she often said "It is very nice chance to buy awesome product cheaply" and bought it; however, when she got the product, she was depressed because quality of the product is pretty bad. Finally, she returned the product. On top of that, lots of people delude themselves when they see famous celebrities in advertisements. What I mean is that images of celebrities tend to cause people to see good points of products. For instance, Kim Myungmin is very famous actor in Korea. When people see him on insurance advertisement, most of them feel that the insurance product is quite trustworthy and valuable. Furthermore, when people see their favorite actor in food commercials, they might think that the food is very good for health and delicious. To sum up, I strongly agree with the statement that many products are able to look better in commercials on account for the reasons I mentioned above: not only many companies intentionally make favorable advertisements for their products but also, famous actors in commercials allow people to make misunderstand. |
